Make More than a Gift. Make a Difference.

Our current students are tomorrow’s leaders. They are interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial. They are scientific communicators that will shape the way future generations think about engineering. These four funds were created to have direct and specific impacts. A gift to any one of them will support our entire department in encouraging students to create and lead in an immersive environment that has every ingredient for success.

Solar Gators

Solar Gators is a student-run engineering design team. The team goal is to design, build, and race a full-sized solar powered electric vehicle to provide an avenue for students to get innovative hands-on experience in the rapidly expanding world of renewable energy.

William W. & Eloise D. Gay Student Design Fund

Experiential learning is essential to the success of engineering students. This endowment directly funds our Student Design Center, providing UF engineers with a competitive environment in which to pursue their passions while learning critical skills, such as teamwork, time management and problem solving.

Robert & Jill Peterson MAE Women’s Excellence Fund

Established by MAE’s first female professor, this fund is designed to support the success and inclusion of female engineering students. It sponsors scholarships and fellowships, the promotion of extracurricular activities such as the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), guest lectures with female thought leaders and more.

W.E. Rise Mentorship Program

W.E Rise (Women Engineers) is a group of UF engineering alumni and friends who give back financially and with their time through mentoring in support of our mission.

MAE Leadership Excellence Endowment

Our department emphasizes the importance of soft skills in engineering. This fund fosters student leadership among MAE students by sponsoring the annual MAE Student Leadership Awards for ME and AE undergraduate students, supporting graduate and undergraduate scholarships and promoting leadership development.

Instructional Excellence Fund

Use your gift to facilitate, recognize and reward excellence in undergraduate educational activities conducted by instruction-focused MAE faculty. This fund supports the purchase of classroom materials, instruction-focused faculty participation in engineering education conferences and the recognition of meritorious accomplishments in undergraduate engineering instruction.
